Wolffenzacher in Bayreuth

Today (January 10th, 2021) from the to-go menu "Franconian Sauerbraten in mild gingerbread sauce Lingonberry red cabbage and potato dumpling "and the" horseradish meat - boiled beef boiled beef in a tasty horseradish sauce and dumpling "ordered and picked up. Everything went great and without any problems. The 2 dishes were delicious and everything was so well packed that we still had a really hot menu at home (Goldkronach / Dressendorf). Great service, keep it up and stay healthy!

What can you say, the internet is like an outdated book. We stood in front of a locked door after 60 km of travel! The second attempt was successful, we got a good seat, were served nicely and ate well in a stylish atmosphere. We hope the place will survive the ineptitude of our politics!

Few visitors at lunchtime sat in the stylish ambience of the restaurant. The service is very friendly and the food is tasty. Hopefully such inns will remain, even if the lack of plan in our politics poses major problems for gastronomy.

Were there with friends at the beginning of September, in the beer garden, great service and very fine regional cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere.

Very pleasant, cozy tavern with nice open wines and excellent cuisine. I had excellent sweetbreads fried to perfection (!), And my wife had a classic duck from the oven. We'd love to come back the next time we visit Bayreuth.

A very cozy restaurant with style and charm. The food was delicious and the staff very nice and attentive.

There were two of us eating. We had ordered deer medallions. The medallions were fried instead of "tender pink", sometimes well done, sometimes English or just too salty. We threw up afterwards. For 25 € I expect something much better. Of course, we don't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

A really recommendable address in Bayreuth. Make sure to reserve a table in advance. Very good Franconian cuisine :-). The historic guest room is unparalleled. Thank you for the friendly and courteous hospitality for years.

The two of us wanted to have a delicious meal tonight at 7:38 p.m., but unfortunately we were turned away on the grounds that "all seats are reserved and we should come back at 8:30 p.m.". But more than half of the seats outside were free. I didn't get it and we went elsewhere and ate great.

I can highly recommend the Schäuferla here. You sit, at least outside, and in my opinion, much nicer and quieter here than a few hundred meters further in the other Franconian inn in the pedestrian zone. I will probably move here permanently for my regular culinary visits to Bayreuth. What I also really liked in view of the currently strange times is that my contact details were requested and collected instead of having to fill out a form myself. Firstly, you don't have to touch a pen and, secondly, it should significantly reduce the number of imaginary contacts. Very professional, good solution!

After our hike, we wanted to stop there in a relaxed way, but were turned away quite arrogantly, despite the many free tables, with the hint that we would certainly find a restaurant on the market square ... then not ... At the market square it was very nice to join us lots of nice restaurants.

Unfortunately there are almost no vegetarian dishes. I then had Kaiserschmarrn. It was really very good. A little more choice would only be desirable.

Very good cuisine, home-style and fine. Sitting outside is also cozy and nice, although in the middle of the pedestrian zone! Recommendable!

Highly recommended! A traditional inn with a beer garden right in the city center. The food is excellent in taste and quality and always exceeds expectations. The staff is friendly, attentive and courteous as it should be. The prices are also quite reasonable. Tip: The duck is a poem, only grandma makes it better!

The Gasthof Wolfenzacher has been providing our employees, the Caritas old people's and nursing home St. Martin, with delicious dishes every day since April 1st, 2020. All employees are enthusiastic. Super quality of the food and very well presented. We get it delivered. Many thanks to the entire Wolfenzacher team. Keep it up

Excellent services, perfectly prepared food???

Outside of the main building stand some chairs and wooden tables with table cloth in Bavarian look. Some guests were conveniently enjoying their menu. We looked at the Menu List and we saw some interesting traditional recipes. Excellent taste and something special for my mouth! :-) Of course we ordered Traditional Franconian Dishes. We enjoyed what we ordered and the waiter enjoyed our Tip! :-) Their foods were really A1 in quality and the foods we ordered were both traditional dishes with Bavarian character. Try them you will really enjoy

a really nicely designed old restaurant in the pedestrian precinct Bayreuth, the very beautiful and to stay inviting small front garden, is only surpassed by the great nostalgic design in the dining room itself. The service is very attentive and super nice, the menu offers something for every taste, the prices are appropriate to the ambience.

The quaint restaurant in the heart of Bayreuth is classically decorated and well-known. Parking is a bit removed, as there are no parking spaces in front of the restaurant. The food is really delicious and is fresh and quickly served by the friendly staff. The prices are really ok for the quality. In sum, a recommendation.

Great, cozy rustic restaurant with good food. In a traditional atmosphere, a currently inspired and interpreted German cuisine is offered. Everything with attentive service by well trained staff. A literal recommendation.

Very delicious upper-franconian dishes in historic ambient.

It is nice atmosphere especially when the weather is good. However, I am very disappointed by the food. The other dishes on our table seemed to be ok. I ordered Schweinefilets and although most of them were soft, some of the pieces were clearly undercooked. The cook was obviously not careful enough to see if every filet is properly cooked. The side dish was spätzle and they were so salty that I could not finish eating them. I paid 16 euro for this dish and I really expected something better. Even if the other dishes of the menu are of better quality, they clearly lost a customer after my experience.

Food is ok and prices too. Maybe the menù is not easy to understand for a tourist...
